Understanding Mining Rates and Tier Multipliers
A detailed breakdown of how mining earnings are calculated in GeoMine.
Your earnings in GeoMine depend on three factors: the base rate, the business tier multiplier, and how long you stay. Let's break it all down.
Base Mining Rate
The base rate is 0.5 $GMINE per minute. This is the rate at a Bronze tier business. Every minute you spend mining, you earn at least 0.5 coins.
Tier Multipliers
Businesses set their mining rate by choosing a subscription tier:
| Tier | Monthly Cost | Multiplier | Coins/Minute | Coins/Hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | $49 | 1x | 0.5 | 30 |
| Silver | $99 | 2x | 1.0 | 60 |
| Gold | $199 | 5x | 2.5 | 150 |
The Math
Formula: Earnings = Base Rate × Tier Multiplier × Minutes
Example: 45 minutes at a Gold business
= 0.5 × 5.0 × 45 = 112.5 $GMINE
The Halving Factor
Mining rates halve annually. In Year 1, the base rate is 0.5/min. In Year 2, it drops to 0.25/min. Year 3: 0.125/min. This means early miners earn significantly more — an incentive to join now.
Maximizing Your Earnings
- Target Gold businesses: They offer 5x the rewards
- Mine early: Halving means Year 1 has the highest rates
- Plan routes: Visit multiple businesses in a single outing
- Stay longer: There's no penalty for spending more time (up to the 8-hour max)
Important Rules
- 15-minute minimum: You earn nothing if you leave before 15 minutes
- 2-hour cooldown: Wait 2 hours before returning to the same business
- 8-hour maximum: Sessions auto-end after 8 hours
