Setting Up Your Mining Zone: A Business Guide
Step-by-step guide for configuring your business's geofence on GeoMine.
Your mining zone (geofence) determines where customers can mine $GMINE at your business. Here's how to set it up for maximum impact.
What Is a Geofence?
A geofence is a virtual circular boundary centered on your business. When a GeoMine user enters this circle, they can start a mining session. The radius depends on your subscription tier.
Tier-Based Radius
| Tier | Max Radius | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 50m | Small shops, boutiques |
| Silver | 100m | Restaurants, cafés, medium retail |
| Gold | 200m | Large stores, malls, entertainment venues |
Setting Up in the Business Portal
- Log into the Business Portal at portal.geomine.app
- Go to the "Geofence" section
- The map auto-centers on your registered business address
- Adjust the radius slider to your preferred size
- Click "Save Geofence"
Best Practices
Don't make it too small: If your geofence is too tight (under 30m), GPS accuracy issues may prevent customers from starting sessions, especially inside buildings.
Don't make it too large: A geofence that covers neighboring businesses can create confusion. Keep it roughly aligned with your property.
Consider your building: GPS signals are weaker indoors. A slightly larger radius helps ensure customers inside your shop are still within the zone.
Testing
After setting your geofence, test it yourself:
- Download the GeoMine app on your phone
- Stand at various points in and around your business
- Check if the "Start Mining" button appears
- Adjust the radius if needed
